Glorifying Him Through The "Busy"

Have you ever been going through a trial, a busy time, or just been having a streak of 'bad days' and thought, "If I could just get through this...", "Maybe once this is over", "I can start _____ after..."? I know how you feel. I do it all the time. It is perfectly logical to want to remove the "thorn" in your side or to look past it, right? We all desire to be comfortable and have things just the way we planned/ hoped/dreamed. I have had time to think about this a lot lately. Does God really want us to "do our time"? Does He want us to merely be "getting by"?

Are you just "doing your time" at work, college, home, school? Are you just trying to make it through? Are you waiting for things to get better to start glorifying Christ?

Think about what God may be teaching you. Think about what you are missing out on because you are looking at these occurrences as prison bars rather than blessings. Think about all the little irritating things that happen throughout the day, and how you can turn the little things around and honor God by thanking Him for them.

I am going through a busy season in my life (but aren't we all?). My Mama is working (a lot). My Dad is looking for a vehicle because an accident with a deer caused us to loose our family van. Two of my siblings are going to TTU for nursing, and the other sibling is going to the community college (in the opposite direction of TTU). With 2 vehicles to work with, things get tricky! They all have classes every day, too! I am trying to keep up around the house and farm (I never knew what it was like to pick up after, cook for, and clean for six people!!!). It's also hard to keep my head in the game around the house when I am planning for a wedding! I am getting married in May (AND THERE IS SO MUCH TO DO!!!). But it is all going to be ok. It IS ok. God is working through the busy to teach us what He wants.

I catch myself thinking, "Once this is over...", "After the wedding I can better do..." etc. Why do I think this? Why am I not jumping on the glorious opportunity to shine His light RIGHT NOW? I can glorify Christ in wedding planning. I can do His work while I am at home cooking dinner. I can glorify Him anywhere I am at, why don't I do it?

"Therefore, my brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord." 1 Corinthians 15:58

Let us toil, but let us rejoice! For it is He that we are working for! It is He who has given us this labor to do! It is He who is going to help us through and fulfill us as we strive after Him.

Is it possible to look at this thorn, this trial as a blessing? YES! It may seem like a terror now, but it will make you stronger! If you rejoice in the Lord and the work that He has placed before you, it won't seem like the burden that you once thought it was.
